MATTHEW EVANS

Everything Else Happened is the adaptation of four of Jonathan Safran-Foer's plays. Playwright David Kantounas obtained the rights to the four stories and reworked them for the stage, forming a story arc linking the characters and exploring themes of morality and memory.  Matthew's score was instrumental in tying these four disparate plays together into one unified piece and featured compositions for piano, string quartet and percussion.

 

The individual plays have been performed at numerous showcases, with the full quartet produced by Dream Epic Theatre and premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe 2012.  It was warmly received and reviews described it as "a moving portrayal of memory and isolation" noting its "ethereal soundtrack".
